Covia is looking for a dynamic Electrician who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Wedron Silica location in Wedron, IL.
The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Work in a safe manner and abide by all Covia and MSHA safety rules, regulations and best practices.
- Understanding of AC/DC distribution and control equipment
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience with 4-20mA instrumentation, Digital or Analog I/O, as well as AC drives
- Hands-on experience with PLCs
- Experience in downloading software to the PLC and performing loop checks to ensure system is working to specification
- Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 PLC, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5 and, Concept programming software
- Device level networks (DeviceNet, ASI); Ethernet communication networks; experience with Windows Terminal server
- PLC programming
- On-Site testing
- Troubleshooting and start-up of complete control systems
- Final certification and documentation of automated control system and on-site project management.
The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in electrical training at a community college or equivalent required.
- 7 years of experience in the Electrical industry required.
- Proficient with PCs and software
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds as needed
