Covia has an immediate opening for a Lab Technician at the Mineral Visions facility, located in Ottawa, IL. This role will focus on partnering with Covia's key external stakeholders to develop and color match products to meet customer satisfaction.
This position will work Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm
The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Ability to color match new products to meet customer satisfaction
- Ability to adjust and finalize color submissions through the use of lab equipment, as well as perform quality control functions
- Measure, weigh up color formula's materials to meet customer specifications
- Clerical work on computer, entering results & formulas into management system
- Sets up, operates, cleans, adjusts, calibrates and understands principles and practical function of lab equipment and instruments; interprets data obtained from said equipment and instruments
- Work cross functionally with other departments to get new products approved for production
- Performing general housekeeping within the plant and laboratory
- Following Covia safety standards at all times
- Other duties as assigned
The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in preferred, prior experience in lab environment a plus
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Experience with data entry and Microsoft Office or various other computer applications
- Ability to see color accurately
- Basic math and measurement skills
