Job Description

Cox Automotive Inc.is seeking a Data Engineer I on a dynamic Financial Analytics team. The ideal candidate for this role is an enthusiastic data minded individual with a drive to learn and grow our team's analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will also have a desire to work on all aspects of the analytics platform including ETL, Database, Report Development, and Performance.

Data Engineer I will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehousing solutions. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Owners and Architects. Business Stakeholders, and Software Engineers to gather requirements, create Technical Designs, as well as implement scalable, optimized data pipelines.

Data Engineer I will also be responsible for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, data validation, performance optimization as well as report and dashboard development.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop data warehousing solutions: Create and maintain data models, schemas, and database designs for data warehouse systems that meet business requirements and optimize performance.

Develop ETL processes: Design, implement, and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouse systems. Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy throughout the ETL process.

Develop Analytics/Reports/Dashboards: Develop data driven solutions in support of Financial Analytics insights.

Performance optimization: Optimize data warehouse systems for query performance, data loading, and data retrieval. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure efficient and effective data processing.

Data validation: Develop and implement data validation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. Perform data profiling and data quality analysis to identify data anomalies and discrepancies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements, provide data engineering expertise, and support the development of financial analytics solutions.

Data integration: Integrate data from various sources, including external APIs, databases, and third-party data providers, into the data warehouse systems. Develop data pipelines and workflows to automate data ingestion processes.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation including data models, data flow diagrams, ETL process documentation, and data dictionaries. Learn new applications, techniques, and technologies in Data Analytics to help drive the team and the company into the future. Collaborate within an Agile Software Development process to achieve shared team goals. Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous process improvement. Support Problem solving related to tickets submitted by Business Users. Participate in system monitoring as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field.
  • Knowledgeable in SQL and database concepts and design.
  • Experience with ETL tools and frameworks such Python, ODI, Informatica, or other similar applications.
  • Experience with Report and Dashboard development
  • Knowledge of data warehousing technologies such as Oracle D, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Snowflake, etc.
  • Familiarity with financial analytics concepts, financial data models, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with data integration and data pipeline development using Python, Java, or other programming languages.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Agile Software Development methodology is a plus.
