Job Description
The Data Mediation Team in Billing Support Systems (BSS) is looking to fill an open position on our team. The Mediation team is responsible for the collection and processing of call records and other data from the Cox network to downstream Billing, Fraud, Call Record analytics applications, various databases and other customer facing applications. Ideal candidate understands batch and real-time data collection applications and how data is transformed and delivered to downstream applications. Candidate should also be familiar with monitoring large data driven applications, server health and data flows and be able to quickly become familiar with the downstream billing applications as internal customers of call record mediation. Candidate should have basic knowledge of data analysis, Linux, structured and script programming, database design, networking, and system security.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Monitor application health and interface with infrastructure support team on server health
- Monitor data flows of mediation inputs and outputs and application alarms to ensure accurate daily processing
- Perform troubleshooting of technical and business processes
- Maintain and develop Business Logic and scripts to manage the communication and data transformation between the acquisition points and the downstream systems.
- Work with stakeholders to create and refine business and functional requirements
- Develop new processes for monitoring using NewRelic and Splunk tools
- Develop and analyze daily mediation metrics to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of daily processes
- Understand network devices and sources delivering call detail records and other data to mediation
- Assess and communicate production issues to leadership
- Proactively identify risks/pitfalls and articulate and document process improvements
- Participate in business strategy as it relates to the Mediation function
- Participate in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain an awareness of mediation industry standards
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field
- Linux/Unix experience for file management and application admin and troubleshooting
- Experience in data mediation, data collection or related technology field,
- preferably supporting CSGi's Intermediate application
- Billing applications and process experience/knowledge
- Experience with shell scripting, python and/or C
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Preferred:
- 2 or more years of experience in leading cross functional projects/efforts
- Experience in Telecommunications industry
- New Relic and/or Splunk application monitoring tool knowledge
- JSON and Kafka event streaming
- Knowledge of file transfer protocols SSH, SFTP, FAI, SNMP
- Application networking knowledge
- System Security knowledge
- Experience with high availability applications
- Database systems and SQL development experience
- Real time mediation processing knowledge
- Using APIs to exchange data between applications
- Knowledge of Cloud based solutions
- Ability to work on-call outside of business hours
