A Sales Manager is responsible for building a winning culture through training and developing Sales Reps, building relationships with key customers, and ensuring the team’s freight is properly serviced. Training responsibilities range from soft skill development to becoming a consultative value creation seller. Sales Managers also establish goals, drive performance, and conduct reviews on a monthly basis to assess quantitative and qualitative performance. Daily Tasks & Responsibilities (include, but not limited to): Training & Development Soft Skills - Reinforce teachings from sales training programs Portfolio Management - Ensure Sales Reps are proficient in portfolio activities including, but not limited to: Proper lead targeting based on sales level and experience; Utilizing internal CRM to advance opportunities; Adding new customers and removing under-performing customers Account Strategy - Teach Sales Reps to identify viable opportunities based on account size/complexity and work with Sales Reps to develop and execute an appropriate account strategy Continuous Practice & Learning – Plan and execute daily/weekly/monthly sales related exercises including, but not limited to shadowing, group cold calls, and mock calls Face to Face Meetings – Ensure thorough preparation, proper etiquette, and follow up actions Subject Matter Expert – Serve as an expert and ensure Sales Reps are sufficiently versed in all Coyote service offerings Service Freight Load board management Ensure all shipments are priced and built properly Connect internal resources required to service the business Build Customer Relationships Develop and maintain a relationship with team’s key customers (minimum 10) Meet with key customers (minimum 1x annually) Provide an escalation path for key customers to additional Coyote leadership Drive Strategy Meet and exceed company objectives for volume and margin growth Company Directives & Strategy - Execute a regular communication cadence to keep the sales team aligned with company initiatives (weekly sales meeting, daily emails) Market Intel & Feedback - Collaborate with peers to provide market intel/feedback to the Director level KPI and Performance Management - Hold Sales Reps accountable to the appropriate KPIs by level designed to help the Sales Rep meet and exceed expectations Celebrate and communicate success to sellers and leadership Why Coyote?
