May educate staff and assist in problem solving to promote the implementation of health care IT, data management platforms, and informatics algorithms. This role will include both short-term projects with investigators as well as longer-term research work in collaboration with external research institutions. This is a new cross-cutting position, spanning the Institute for Informatics and the Division of Biostatistics. The incumbent will work closely with faculty, staff and senior leadership and report OHIDS faculty. At OHIDS, our team is central as our number one asset. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Develop, implement or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, processes or structures to assist clinical and research faculty and staff with data collection/extraction. Prepare estimates and feasibility analysis of research requests for primary investigators. Curate, analyze and interpret biomedical datasets to improve research outcomes. Perform and conduct research using computational and statistical analysis techniques on collected data. Design, develop, select, test, implement and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions, data structures and decision support mechanisms to support patients, health care professionals and their information management and human-computer and human-technology interactions within health care contexts. Review code written by other team members and ensure accuracy of research analysis and results. Develop strategies, policies or procedures for introducing, evaluating or modifying computational tools applied to clinical practice, education, administration or research. Conduct literature review related to research project. Participate in the development of publications, presentation, and funding applications Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications Master’s in statistics, computer science, health informatics or related clinical field. Healthcare and research experience. EPIC Certification. Strong experience in conducting research on large datasets and implementing data analysis pipelines including data collection, preprocessing, modeling and visualization Deep knowledge of computational and statistical analysis methods Excellent programming skills in python with experience using standard packages, such as pandas, numpy, scikit learn and pytorch as well as experience with SQL and R. Required Qualifications Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of related experience. Grade G13 Salary Range $63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
