Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Maintenance Operator to join the Startex, SC manufacturing location. This role is for the 1st shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) and is a full-time employment opportunity in a 24/7/365 polyethylene pipe manufacturing extrusion operation, producing high quality polyethylene products.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment, a combination of 1 year technical training with related coursework, e.g. Electrical, Pneumatics, HVAC, Hydraulics and 1 year of industrial maintenance experience, demonstrated troubleshooting skills, minor maintenance skills, and understanding of plastic process equipment.
- A minimum education of High School education or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Available to work overtime which includes weekends, as required.
- Must maintain safety as a core value.
- Must possess basic analytical skills.
- Must be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be well organized in handling a variety of tasks.
- Must have the ability to stand/walk throughout the day and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, prints and schematics.
- Ability to perform welding and cutting tasks.
- Ability to work safely with electricity up to and including 480 volts.
Testing Requirements:
- Pre-employment and on-going testing include: controlled substances, physical, background check, audiogram, and vision.
- Must pass all MOBI requirements for forklifts and cranes and possess the ability to operate this equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience with computer-controlled equipment, PLC’s, HVAC, and process water systems.
- Proficiency in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, welding, metal fabrication, pump and gearbox repair and maintenance of all plant and process equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Work Schedule:
- 1st shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm).
- Overtime may be required which includes weekends.
