Job Details: The Vice President, Trade will be responsible for creating the vision and operationalizing our trade and supply chain strategies. This leader will shape the trajectory of CarepathRx’s success by assisting the organizational growth of revenue by negotiating better cost of goods, procuring newly approved medications, strategic purchasing, and implementing solid supply chain science. This position is recognized as a central contributor providing collaboration to all stakeholders in the development and implementation of a revenue generating strategy. Strong relationships with the pharmaceutical industry will successfully enable implementation of goals. This individual should understand alternative site pharmacy practice (i.e., home infusion and specialty pharmacy) and the functioning of health systems and/or Integrated Delivery Networks. Responsibilities Responsible for the strategic vision and growth of the CarepathRx’s Group Purchasing Organization, ProCure Responsible for oversight of team members that provide support to CarepathRx client partners. Secure limited distribution drug access for UPMC pharmacy Provide command and control of all procurement, inventory management and month-end physical processes for UPMC pharmacy. Lead and develop the team to ensure they are growing, challenged and thriving in our organization. Proactively address strategic and operational challenges, develop new solutions and create tools to support daily operations. Develop new processes in collaboration with Pharmacy Operations and Finance to provide efficiency, reduced costs, and preferred sourcing. Support Trade Team on new Pharma business development initiatives by staying current and up to date with developments specialty pharmacy and infusion drug pipeline. Collaborate with Finance on strategic sourcing program for brand and generic drugs. Oversee and ensure the organization is receiving accurate contractual pricing from direct, in-direct, and GPO partners, based on terms and conditions. Secure purchase, data, and/or value-based agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers and/or third-party data aggregators. Establish and provide oversight management of inventory par levels of UPMC pharmacy to ensure COGS are within corporate guidelines and accurately deploy demand planning to ensure stocks are minimalized. Oversee cycle count process at appropriate intervals and documentation for auditing purposes for UPMC pharmacy. Collaborate with multiple departments within the organization (i.e., Operations, Reimbursement, Infusion, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, data and IT teams) to accomplish tasks and objectives to drive patients’ satisfaction and financial success. Ensure Buyer and alternative sites are monitoring drug aging and initiating eligible returns to the wholesalers, to ensure fully returnable credit potential for UPMC pharmacy. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of health systems/IDNs preferred. Experience with successfully securing limited distribution drug access. Ability to successfully lead a department and team. Ability to adapt quickly and handle challenging, vendor and client situations in a professional manner. Demonstrates effective verbal, written and presentation skills. Technical proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Outlook. Demonstrates the CarepathRx C.A.R.E. values. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. MBA or graduate degree in a related field is preferred. 5 years of experience in supply chain management. 5 years of director or VP-level experience. Successful experience in managing a highly performing team. Prior specialty pharmacy and/or healthcare industry experience is preferred. Prior GPO experience is preferred (may want to change to required based upon need).
