Payroll and Benefits Manager
Status: Non-Exempt (Full Time)
Reports to: Controller
Job Summary
The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for accurate processing of payroll for approximately 300-450 employees bi-weekly while also managing onboarding new employees’
Essential Functions
- Payroll
- Entry, verification, and submittal for W-2 employees and IC
- Reimbursement research and tracking
- New Hire entry for W-2 employees and IC
- Payables verification in SpringAhead for time approved after each payroll processing
- Accounting verification in SpringAhead for IC
- 12-month tracking
- Non-payment reporting to verify all employees on benefits were paid to be sure their benefit deductions are being pulled correctly
- Pull 401K and HSA reporting
- Verify all salaried employees work scheduled hours
- Answer employee questions about payroll
- Update tax notices and rates with ADP
- Auditing Spreadsheets
- Benefit Calculations
- QuickBooks Payroll Entry
- ADP
- Monthly and Quarterly Commissions
- HSA Contribution’s
- Payroll Deductions
- Onboarding
- Sending Welcome Email
- Process New Hire Paperwork
- Process Drug Screening, Background Screening and Credit Screening as needed
- Follow up to make sure all onboarding complete before start date
- E-Verify employees within 3 days of start date
- Terminating employees in systems
- Office Duties
- Onsite support for Controller
- Answer Phones and emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Other Duties as Assigned
Experience & Education Requirements
- Previous payroll and HR Experience
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- ADP
- QuickBooks
- AA Degree in related Field
Preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional a plus
- Bachelors in Accounting
- SHRM Certified
Pay Range Based on Qualifications and Experience
$52,000.00 - $56,000.00 yearly with full benefits, holiday, paid time off
Status and Hours
Full time non-exempt, typically 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM, with an hour required lunch break.
