Accounting Specialist

About the Role

We are growing! Craftsmen CPAs needs a smart team player who wants to join our fun, but professional, accounting and consulting firm. We are looking for someone who loves to do detailed accounting work to support our customers. As a part-time Monthly Accounting Specialist, you will be an essential part of our team by ensuring that customer financials are processed quickly and accurately each month.

• Account Reconciliation: You will support our customer base by performing monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations in web-based accounting software (QuickBooks Online), answering customer questions, filing sales tax returns, and generating reports.
• Accounting Processes and Documentation: You will help build out internal and external processes needed at the firm as well as create documentation of these processes for customers. This will include capturing knowledge regarding processes, accounting, and software.
• Customer Support: You will learn the accounting systems we use daily to offer high value support to our customers.

• We exist to manage their back-office and administrative functions, taking things like accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and technology planning off our customers’ plates, allowing them to focus on their core business.

About You

• Personable: You are personable and have excellent communication skills. Your writing is clear and concise.
• Curious: You are a quick learner who can figure things out on your own and easily adapt to changes.
• Accountable: You like to get your hands dirty to get things done and take full responsibility to ensure the quality of your work is high and deadlines are met.
• Independent: You are comfortable blazing a trail when necessary. You can remain focused and diligent in an independent work environment when necessary.
• Technology Focused: You know your way around a computer and enjoy researching and learning new applications.
• Interested: You have more than five years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and related processes. You are available for 15-20 hours per week during business hours.
