What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator position at CRANEMASTERS INC?
Cranemasters is looking for a welder to join our team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills and a mechanical background. Primary functions are in the shop, but could be called out to the field for onsite repairs.
Responsible for accomplishment of welding and fabrication activities as assigned. Duties are performed in support of the repair, maintenance, manufacture and/or refurbishment of both Cranemasters’ and customer’s cranes, trucks, vehicles and heavy equipment. Ensures that all work is performed with emphasis on safety and quality. Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe, effective, professional, and efficient manner so as to protect employees and the assets of the Company.
Essential Functions:
1.Adheres to Cranemasters safety policies and procedures. Actively participates in daily job/work briefing.
2.Applies welding/fabrication knowledge/skills/abilities for accomplishment of repair, maintenance, manufacture and/or refurbishment of vehicles and equipment while achieving quality results and meeting deadlines.
3.Performs related activities utilizing knowledge and experience in thermal cutting and grinding, repairs of broken/cracked parts, filling holes, modification of parts, etc.
4.Timely and accurately completes required documentation such as work orders, time sheets, quality/inspection documents, etc. Records detailed information as required including mileage, hours, date and work/repair description. Ensures that documentation is legible and understandable.
5.Actively participates in team based work assignments to ensure timely completion of work assignment(s).
6.Proactive team member providing and supporting the training of other welder/fabricators in accomplishment of administrative duties in addition to technical tasks.
7.Maintains a clean/safe work area, assists team members in maintaining the cleanliness of the shop, ensures that tools are in good repair and returned to designed location when work has been completed.
8.Completes required training for safety procedures, enhancement of technical skills and professional development.
9.Other duties as assigned.
Required Travel: As may be required for delivery of services in the event of an equipment failure that occurs in the field/job site; set-up and field testing, warranty work after delivery, as well as other travel to/from Cranemasters locations, training, seminars and meetings
