As a key member of the quality team at CRB, the Director, Design & Field Control will be responsible for leading Design processes and Field Quality Control efforts for project lifecycle management. The successful candidate will manage all elements of design and field Quality control documentation, development, design planning, design inputs & outputs, review, verification, validation, change control, specifications, SOPs, protocols, and reports.
- Collaborate with functional leads to design and build Quality control processes to work with CRB’s existing systems.
- Design, develop, approve, and implement Design Control Quality Systems SOPs, forms, reports, protocols, and documents associated with design control and Validations processes.
- Perform and review/approve design control activities.
- Ensure design control documentation and requirements are met.
- Anticipate and manage project risks and issues and provide specific mitigation and corrective action strategies.
- Work on complex technical problems, apply quality engineering methods and provide innovative solutions.
- Facilitate Design review activities, process capabilities, including validation in partnership with Engineering.
- Perform third party management activities such as review of design control work, assessment of supplier changes, supplier controls (corrective actions), quality agreements, relationship development.
- Monitor, track/trend all KPI’s and periodically provide a summary report to V.P. Quality for Management Review meetings.
- Plan, develop, and direct field quality control processes and managers.
- This role will work with assigned Field Quality Control personnel and project teams to ensure construction execution practices are consistent with client and CRB expectations
- Represent the company as a Quality Assurance SME during internal and external regulatory inspections.
- Provide the best product for your respective project’s customer or end users, keeping projects moving forward and fixing concerns as they arise.
- Provide strategic input into the construction organization, setting your teams future up for growth and success.
- Promote a safe and quality driven culture, both project and companywide.
- Coach and mentor counterparts and trade-partners on excellence in the construction industry.
- Employ a can-do attitude, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the project’s goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or scientific field with at least 10 years of validation experience in the AEC industry on large healthcare, science and technology, or food and beverage commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Experience and understanding of design, development, verification, and validation processes.
- Ability to work with all project partners (owners, designers, consultants, trades/subcontractors) and multiple shared service teams.
- Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
- Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring innovative ideas and willingness to continuously learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills.
Additional Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and proven delivery on Civil, Structural, and Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety and Controls scopes.
- Knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
- Proven experience in managing FMEAs, Lean/Six Sigma projects, black belt, process validation, process capability, statistical analysis, and application of statistical methods (JMP, Minitab).
- Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit tools.
