The Quality Audit Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing the Quality Management System (QMS) Audit Program and conducting gap analysis of key processes to assist the V.P. of Quality with identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and revises the Quality Audit Program.
- Auditing of quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement functions.
- Monitors and reports on effective implementation and project adherence to Quality Management Systems, procedures and requirements.
- Identifies and reports the trends in non-conformances and deficiencies.
- Responsible for periodic review and updating of the process standards for Audits.
- Documents trends and plans future audits based on the trend results and analysis of risk.
- Identifies gaps between documented processes and implementation of those requirements; reports and communicates non-compliance findings to process owner(s) and management; identifies and communicates opportunities for improvements.
- Determines the relative importance of the project/process quality audit purpose and scope in relation to process and project risk profile.
- Identifies auditing staff training needs and coordinates training programs.
- Ensures audits are performed only by qualified staff.
- Conducts the annual performance evaluation review process for assigned staff.
- Verifies compliance, through audit activities and reported results, with the requirements of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System - Requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Engineering, Management, Quality or Business
- Minimum 5 years prior applicable experience in quality management or related area
- Training: Quality auditing training development
- Certification: American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification as a Certified Lead Auditor; active member of ASQ (desired)
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in auditing engineering, design, procurement and construction practices and processes.
- Auditing to Codes and Regulations pertaining design and construction.
- Auditing of construction inspection, tests and methods.
- Writes reports, correspondence and other documentation.
- Ability to estimate, measure and manage volumes of work to completion.
- Ability to understand instructions; verbal, numeric and spatial aptitudes; perception of detail in verbal or tabular material; analytic, precise and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates advanced: process management, conflict management, written communications, composure, managerial courage and decision quality.
