POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the CFO will direct and administer the organization's financial activities. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, be detail orientated, and have a high level of professionalism. Primary duties for this role and requirements are as follows:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the organization's accounting-related functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost review, and job cost projection management.
Prepares financial statements, coordinates information with external accountants as needed, and compiles reports required by regulatory agencies.
Develops and compiles reports for management in order to analyze key metrics and trends pertaining to the company's financial performance.
Supervises the accounting team and ensures that team members are adequately trained and knowledgeable to perform their roles at the expected level of quality.
Implements operational best practices and drives performance measures that support the company's strategic direction and growth initiatives.
Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and monitors departmental budgets throughout the year.
Reviews, tests, and recommends modifications to current accounting practices, procedures, and internal controls, to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Monitors compliance, controls, and company procedures to ensure compliance and decrease liability.
Participates in a wide variety of other projects and tasks as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; a Master's Degree or CPA designation is a plus.
At least six (6) year's professional accounting experience and prior construction experience is required.
Must have excellent attention to detail along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess the ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization and work well independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency working with various enterprise and accounting systems is required. Previous experience executing system upgrades and migration is preferred.
