The Job at a Glance
The Consumer Processing team provides financial services to members in a confident and professional manner that assures efficient operations and exceptional service.
The Consumer Processor assertively executes cross selling with members and potential members to increase growth. This position is required to accurately process and fund all lending requests received through virtual and branch teams.
Duties include interviewing, processing lending documents, fraud verification, closing and funding of the loan. Multitasking, working independently, and effective verbal and written communication is required for this position.
A Typical Day
- Assess member loan needs from start to finish, starting with loan types, ancillary product review. Finishing with the closing of the loan and follow up as needed, while following CU1's lending policies and procedures
- Able to discuss loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit a positive response from member
- Advanced knowledge of Consumer lending products and the ability to discuss Real Estate lending products.
- Build relationships with members by educating them about products and services they could benefit from, helping them achieve their full economic potential
- Have a thorough understanding of the Credit Union's strategic initiatives and align individual performance to achieve those initiatives as well as empower their co-workers to do the same.
- Be a Role Model within their team by showing the CORE values in their daily work performance and team interactions.
- Lead and develop effective and efficient loan processes company wide.
- Accountable for meeting individual sales goals and participating in team goals.
- Attain and keep a high level of member interaction and experience.
- Maintain knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, procedures while staying informed of all policy and procedural changes to share with their team and new hire training.
- Respond to member requests, problems, and complaints, resolving issues, and / or directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance.
Handle complex questions and problems.
- Follow-up calls for all needed documentation and verification
- Screen loan documents to verify properly documented decision and completed paperwork is accurate.
- Accepts empowerment and exercises independent decision-making skills.
- Additional duties / authorities as assigned by manager.

What We Look For
High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred, or organizational development or related field of study preferred.
Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and / or training
Minimum 1 year experience in providing lending services to members to exceed member expectations and help members reach their full economic potential.
Financial industry and loan processing experience is preferred.

- Ability to communicate products and services offered by Credit Union 1 effectively and exceed goals as set to them by Credit Union 1.
