Technical Writer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Primarily responsible for creating/maintaining documentation for software enhancements, implementations, upgrades, configuration changes and other application modifications.
• Assists with documenting test scenarios and organizing testing results in a clear, professional manner.
• Assists in providing necessary documentation in the Change Request system as part of the change management process.
• Work with, project teams, vendors and staff as appropriate to ensure the timely completion of assigned document deliverables. This may include running reports, running and validating data exports, creating/maintaining technical specifications, creating/maintaining procedures, creating/maintaining version release notes.
• Provides assistance in the troubleshooting, training and support of software applications.
• Works with department staff to develop reporting and analytics for systems implemented.
• Works to implement and maintain a version control system for all custom development. This includes technical specifications, version release notes, procedure updates and assisting with documentation associated with processing Change Requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An associate degree in computer science or 2 years of equivalent experience working with IT systems or on technical project teams.
• Proficient word processing and spreadsheet skills, preferably in MS Word, Visio and Excel.
• Experience with understanding and writing technical documentation preferred.
• Understanding of the functions involved with banking and lending.
• Must be detail-oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills, a professional and courteous demeanor and the ability to work shifts that may include weekend and extended hours.
• Understanding of financial regulations like BSA, OFAC, FDCPA, Fair Lending, etc…
• Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
