Description:
The maintenance manager reports to the director of manufacturing and is responsible for keeping operations running within the plant by managing and overseeing all maintenance-related activities. This is a salaried position. The maintenance manager plays a key role within the operations management team. Compensation is commensurate with experience level.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and oversee all maintenance-related work by managing a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians.
- Ensure that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and within OSHA and USDA guidelines.
- Ensure the facility meets and satisfies all industry regulations and audit standards.
- Manage spend according to established budgets.
- Forecast, order, and negotiate prices for spare parts inventory.
- Develop and implement a proactive maintenance strategy.
- Hire and oversee training for all maintenance team members.
- Coordinate the completion of complex repairs.
- Hire subcontractors for specialized maintenance work and sign off on maintenance contracts.
- Take point on special projects that require participation from maintenance technicians.
- Look for new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity and cut costs.
- Draft maintenance reports that communicate the performance of the department to the site leadership team.
Requirements
- BS degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, business, or related field. Experience can fulfill this requirement.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in related field. Experience working in a USDA food production facility is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid people skills that include the ability to lead a team and organize work in the best way possible.
- Solid computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and a CMMS. Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
- Ability to solve problems and present effective and efficient solutions in a clear and concise manner to technicians, members of the manufacturing team, and the site leadership team.
- Ability to form strategies that lead to completion of short and long term site and company goals and objectives.
- Must be detail oriented and organized, yet flexible.
- Must be able to prioritize workload and multi-task.
- Desire to learn, grow, and contribute in a team-based environment.
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
