Crescent Cove
The mission of Crescent Cove is to offer care and support to children and young adults with a
shortened life expectancy, and their families who love them. Crescent Cove is Minnesota’s first
residential children’s respite and hospice home, which opened in May 2018 in Brooklyn Center.
T he Home provides overnight respite stays for children with life-threatening conditions, as well as
sacred space beyond the hospital or home environment for compassionate care at the end-of-life
of a child. Crescent Cove provides support services such as massage, music, and art therapy,
spiritual care and healing touch, and support groups for families caring for a child with a
l ife-threatening condition.

Position Summary
The Engagement Coordinator works with the Manager of Engagement and Communications on:
(1) the development program for Crescent Cove, including gift processing, stewardship, donor
database and constituent record management, (2) elements of the fundraising program such as
third-party fundraising and peer-to-peer campaigns, (3) event logistics assistance and (4) digital or
print communications production.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Engagement Coordinator will perform the following duties:

  • Track all incoming donations to Crescent Cove that arrive via mail, online and other
c hannels, enter into the donor database, and work in conjunction with finance support
staff on reconciliation process;
  • Track in-kind donations and run monthly and quarterly reports on revenues and in-kind
donations;
  • Maintain a quality donor database by updating donor and constituent information;
  • Generate thank-you letters in a timely manner and other forms of donor appreciation
through a stewardship plan;
  • Assist with the logistics and execution of annual events including the annual fundraising
Gala;
  • Serve as the staff lead for the silent auction as part of the annual Gala;
  • Serve as the lead for working with and executing third-party fundraisers and peer-to-peer
fundraising campaigns.
  • Run wealth screening software on donor prospects and provide reporting to the Manager

of Engagement and Communications, Executive Director and others as needed on an
ad-hoc basis.

  • Depending on skills and interest, this position also has the potential to assist the
e ngagement and communications manager in any of these ways:
  • Staff third-party fundraising events that support Crescent Cove or talking
engagements if needed, estimated at 1 per quarter;
  • Be the back-up in executing social media and website content strategies
determined by the engagement and communications manager;
  • Lead tours of the Home to donors and supporters as requested.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Engagement and

Communications.

Qualifications Three or more years of experience working in a fundraising, nonprofit, or relevant

environment
  • In lieu of years of experience, demonstrated motivation to learn about fundraising
operations is essential
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Self-motivated, self-directed, and organized
  • A commitment to philanthropy and to treating donors like clients, with customer service
skills and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to learn the functions of a fundraising operation
  • Knowledge of and ability to use donor database software and third-party online
fundraising platforms
  • Familiarity with gift processing and data capture
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Crescent Cove
  • Strong integrity and ethical conduct
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when assigned

Salary range for this position is from $45,000 to $55,000 and will be commensurate with
education and experience. This position is eligible for benefits through Crescent Cove including
health insurance, an optional HSA, Vision and Dental and a retirement plan, among other
benefits.
