What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mgr Purchasing BU EX position at Crescent Hotels & Resorts?
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure purchasing policies, systems and procedures are in place in accordance with Company standards.
- Monitor vendors for quality, service and price through standard purchasing specifications.
- Obtain competitive quotes for hotel requirements and ensure that the best product is sourced and purchased .
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to review market list and arrange for delivery of those items daily.
- Ensure that all order receiving dates are updated by the buyers according to the suppliers promised delivery dates.
- Ensure that all purchases are approved via Bircshstreet and trains departments to work efficiently in Bircshstreet
- Ensure & verify that quotations are regularly updated, and supplier’s new current price lists are maintained.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Purchasing Department in all aspects.
- Research and identify new products and services for the hotel in market.
- Check and approve delivered items discrepancy report, regarding price and quantity order variances.
- Verify the 'pending orders' report on a daily basis, and all pending orders are checked and verified regularly.
- Identify items for standing orders utilizing vendor's logistics for regular deliveries to the resort - based on approved highly consumed items.
- Verify that all documentation and proper quotations are maintained and filed according to Policy and Procedure requirements.
- Responsible for all purchasing functions, quotations, quality and availability.
- Keep organized records that can be checked at any time for information or audit purposes.
Skills and Experience
- College degree or diploma in business studies an asset
- Previous experience in purchasing role in a luxury hotel/resort required
- Previous experience leading a team required
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and purchasing software
- Strong negotiation skills Highly organized and strong ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must be professional, engaging, firm and cordial to fellow associates.
