At Crest Healthcare Consulting, we specialize in offering administrative and consulting services to skilled nursing facilities and Senior Housing communities across Southern and Central Illinois. The Human Resources Generalist position is one of the key members of the HR Team! Crest Healthcare Consulting is rapidly growing and looking to keep our small company culture. The HR Generalist works with the VP of HR and similar level management to develop and administer human resources policies, programs, and services, including legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices, and procedures, and employee communications by performing the following duties. In order to succeed in this role, you must be a self-starter, a multitasker, a team player, and comfortable under pressure.
Essential Work Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list, but covers much of the day-to-day work)
- Assist with day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties
- Compile and update employee records (physical and virtual files) as needed
- Workers Comp – Tracking, communication w/facilities on open claims, light duty offer letters (Organizational and Excel Exp)
- Employee Wage Verifications (Basic math skills)
- Answer questions regarding Time Keeping requirements, PTO eligibility, benefits, and other pertinent information
- Explain company policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
- Record data for each employee, including such information as starting position, wage, contact information, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for termination etc.
- Aid in the distribution of information regarding employee benefit programs, changes in policies and procedures and more
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, reclassifications, and employee leaves of absence
- Assist in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Reviewing for Benefits Enrollment
- Exit Interviews
- Employee Relations
- Assisting Special Projects
- Assist with day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties
- Compile and update employee records (physical and virtual files) as needed
- Assist in carrying out the process for employee complaints and grievance procedures
- Attend to any employee requests and concerns regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
- Monitoring a Human Resources email account and providing responses in a timely manner
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes assignments, and maintains professional composure under pressure and dynamic conditions
Knowledge Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and previous Excel experience.
- Basic knowledge of labor laws (Federal and State)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communications skills (Written and Verbal)
- Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field (or relevant experience)
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Must be a team player
- Interest in learning contemporary HR theory, law and regulations
