Position Description

We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can lead our financial functions and provide valuable insights and analysis to support our operations.As the Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating the monthly close process, preparing forecasts and budgets, assisting with strategic planning, and evaluating acquisitions. You will also ensure compliance with policies and procedures, support audits, and improve working capital within the company.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting required.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years work experience. Construction industry preferred.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Is a business partner to the Idaho Materials & Construction leadership team providing financial analysis / reports and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
- Participates in / coordinates the monthly close process with operations, management, accounting, the Region Controller, the Region CFO, division personnel, and others.
- Prepares and helps review forecasts and budgets.
- Participates in strategic and capital expenditure planning process and reporting.
- Champions fixed asset audits with the area.
- Assists with the evaluation and integration of acquisitions. Reports on acquisition performance.
- Ensures compliance with AMAT and West Division policies and procedures and internal controls (SOX).
- Performs / reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supports external / internal audits.
- Helps prepare and file property and sales taxes.
- Assists / reviews inventory valuations and measures.
- Actively participates in process improvement efforts.
- Champions efforts to improve working capital within the company.
- Supervisors / mentors accounting staff.
- Reports on carbon reduction and environmental efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
