Position Overview

This skilled position involves the safe and efficient operation of concrete mixer trucks to deliver ready mixed concrete.

All deliveries are local to Greater Rochester and the surrounding areas. Shift start and end times may vary, but will often include some overtime.

All Dolomite Group employees are expected to partner with associates and management of The Dolomite Group to support and actively promote customer service and our safety process.

We are hiring at Manitou Concrete in Henrietta, Farmington, and Brockport.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

• Safely and efficiently operate equipment and report any problems to your manager in a timely fashion.
• Pursuant to directions from Dispatch, the Driver will make the appropriate number of ready-mix concrete deliveries each day.
• Work independently and make decisions that affect your safety and performance as well as that of our customers and co-workers.
• Conduct proper housekeeping to maintain a clean and functional truck.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Dispatch or Management.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in The Dolomite Group Safety and Health Policies and Procedures handbook.
• Compliance with NYSDOT and all other government regulations
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
• Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Dolomite Company employees

Knowledge / Skill Requirements

• Valid State Commercial Drivers' License (CDL)
• Must be able to read and understand maps.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and Dolomite representatives
• Ability to communicate effectively on the radio system and use truck tracking system
• Keep time and material records
• Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner. This includes lifting of 50 lb chutes and ascending / descending ladders.
• Operational knowledge of a commercial truck and related equipment
