What You Will Do
In this role you will be responsible for executing, supporting, and implementing sales strategies to maximize sales and profit margins within the Salem area’s ready-mix concrete market, providing industry-leading customer support to clients of all sizes, and ensuring that we are the trusted source for all their material needs.
You will support and maintain current accounts and prospect new ones, bid jobs, seek out and attend customer, market, and industry networking events, and gather market intel.
From working on landscape jobs to federal infrastructure and commercial buildings, you will play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Location : This is an on-site position based out of Salem, OR or Corvallis, OR, with local commutes to surrounding areas as needed.
What You Can Do (Qualifications)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Requirements :
- Demonstrated experience providing customer support in a sales, customer service, business development, or related setting including the ability to provide solutions to a wide range of customer needs.
- Experience working within a construction, production, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and present information clearly and concisely to a wide range of audiences.
- Safety-minded individual who demonstrates the ability to champion all safety initiatives.
- Basic high-school level math skills (add / subtract / multiply / divide / basic algebra)
- Enthusiasm for building / maintaining key connections, researching market information, and staying on top of new construction projects and industry / market trends.
- Be action-oriented, able to independently prioritize, and have a drive for results.
- Basic PC & Microsoft 365 knowledge.
- Willingness to adapt hours as needed to meet customer needs, and attend trade shows, conferences and events as needed.
- A valid driver’s license, current authorization to work in the United States, and pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing.
Preferred Requirements :
Basic knowledge of concrete products, specifications, applications, and / or industry standards. This could include a general understanding of how concrete is made, delivered, or calculated, prior exposure to quality control, or similar related knowledge.
Work Requirements :
- This position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing strategy and tactics that ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- Become a consultative expert in our field by conducting product, industry and / or market analysis to include demand forecasting;
competitor pricing, products, and capabilities; customer profiles; industry and market trends; and best product alternatives.
- Bid all appropriate jobs within the assigned marketing area. Participate in the development of bid strategy for each job.
- Establish short- and long-term goals and strategies regarding key clients, and develop specific action plans to achieve goals.
- Establish relationships with client’s primary decision makers.
- Assist with CRH Solutions across market areas and participate in collaborative efforts with all CRH partners / business units.
- Make specific recommendations regarding advertising, promotions, and public relations as they affect sales and stakeholder management.
- Partner with other departments (Quality Control, Production Operations, Transportation, Dispatch, etc.) to ensure every account receives an appropriate level of customer service as well as discuss innovative ideas and product segmentation plans.
- Communicate with others as necessary to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap geographic boundaries, leveraging the full CRH suite of products and services across company lines of business
- Actively participate in industry-related associations (ABC, AGC, Homebuilder Associations) to develop and maintain key business relationships.
- Use creative and persistent selling to establish new accounts. Analyze new and existing accounts and prioritize your efforts on those accounts with the long-term volume and profit potential.
- Log required sales reports and document key opportunities, goals, action plans, sales efforts, and all related customer information into CRM no less than weekly, more often if required.
- Understand your customer’s business and problems to best find innovative ways to aid and provide value to their business.
- Inform customers when products are used improperly or when product quality is being impaired. Document such discussions for later review.
- Report all unsafe conditions or behaviors on the job or yard. Take appropriate action to stop unsafe behavior.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

- Office Hours Monday Friday starting at 7am. Average of 45 hours / week. Start and end times may fluctuate based on customer need, workload, and business need.
- This is an in-person position (not remote).
