What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytics & Coding Intern position at CRICO?
At CRICO, a data-driven organization, we use malpractice claims and other patient safety data to identify and predict emerging risks, inform the design of interventions to improve patient safety.
Responsibilities
The intern will develop an understanding of patient safety and medical malpractice. He/she will work closely with VP of Advanced Analytics & Coding, Head of Advanced Analytics, and/or Data Analysts of Analytics Team on the following projects.
- Build meta data for advanced analytics portfolios
- Add to Clinical Coding Manual updates and edits
- Other tasks in need of assistance
This is a hybrid role, and the intern needs to be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesday.
Knowledge, Education, Experience, and Skills
- Undergrad student or higher education, preferably in a public health, quantitative (e.g. statistics, math, and economics), or science field
- Ability to learn and performed tasks asked
- Knowledge of relational databases and familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) a plus

This internship requires a 8-week commitment of up to 40 hours per week with a start date of July 1st, 2024. The position is hybrid, offering a flexible schedule.
