Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM) to join our Project Management Office (PMO). The CRICO PMO reports to the IT department, but it has an enterprise-wide scope of operations. The PMO and its assigned PMs manage individual projects, programs, and performs portfolio management. The CRICO Project Manager has demonstrated core competencies with project methodologies and is adept at tailoring and managing project and delivery approaches that enable efficient and predictable outcomes. The CRICO PM is an effective leader of multi-disciplined teams having excellent technical and business focused interpersonal skills and with a true interest in learning/understanding CRICO strategic goals and business operations. PM Project assignments are made by the Senior Program Manager, PMO with those assignments originating from an enterprise approved portfolio. This position reports directly to the Senior Program Manager, PMO.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (% time spent):
- Consistently delivers assigned projects on-time and within budget including post deployment warranty support and operational turnover planning at success rate >80%.
- Assures assigned projects have clearly stated and measurable business case describing the issue(s) impact of doing, not doing, definition of done and measurable metrics to validate if business outcomes are met.
- Lead key stakeholders to determine project approach, methodology (or combinations of – hybrid) and performs deliverable/artifact tailoring.
- Works with executive sponsor, program/product owner, IT resource managers and PMO to identify project team members, roles/responsibilities, project governance and communication models.
- Leads collaborative development of deliverable, major tasks and dependencies using techniques like work breakdown structure (WBS), backlog formation and grooming, sprint planning or other methods to establish master project backlog, and master project plans & schedules.
- Leverages Jira for backlog and task management and establishes and maintains project level Confluence pages to organize, collaborate and communicate.
- Performs project level Vendor Management that may include SOW negotiation, purchase order preparation and review and approval of labor/service charges.
- Participates in creation of project budgets, work estimation financial planning and works with Finance department to monitor and control planned spend VS. actual.
- Performs resource capacity planning specific to assigned project(s) and at the IT department level to identify and resolve resource overlaps and over commitments.
- Understands the prevailing enterprise level strategic goals and department level goals to assess and align business case statements within Project Mandates and/or Project Briefs.
- Works with Project Management Office (PMO), Project Sponsor and/or other project stakeholders to create Project Brief artifact for proposed projects including business case, order-of-magnitude estimates and, in some cases, projected ROI justifications.
- Proactively performs project level risk management working with stakeholders to identify and classify risks, assign risk owners and to assure appropriate mitigation approaches identified and followed.
- Maintains decision logs, produces project status updates and financial updates as required.
- Adheres to Security and Procurement policies and assures scope management, change management processes are defined and followed.
- Plans and conducts Lessons Learned and supports project lookbacks determining if goals/objectives were met.
- Actively learns the CRICO business operations through on the job continuous learning to become a competent and trustworthy advisor who understands the enterprise strategic goals and department level goals.

- Identifies project resources and collaboratively works with the project team on effort estimations and resource capacity planning.
- Is well versed with practical experience of different project management methodologies and is adept at approach and artifact tailoring.
- Skilled at estimation, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling developing master schedule and/or backlog as required to control scope and can effectively communicate status.
- Understands Project Management Office (PMO) operations and working as a PM in a PMO.

Latitude/ Freedom to Act:
- Works independently with limited direction and supervision, but in accordance with PMO standards and process, toward long range targets.
- Typically oversees employees on a matrix basis with responsibility for one or more projects of moderate complexity. Project completion is primary focus of job (i.e., tactical v. strategic).
