Position Summary
Manages and directs retort production
General Purpose
To oversee and ensure coordination between all sectors of retort operations, and to promote communication with other affected departments of the complex. Position is an instrumental key in succession plan for further processing branch within Crider, Inc.
Role Qualifications
- Must communicate well with others of all management levels
- Two(2) to five(5) years related work experience, or equivalent degree
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, able to send and receive e-mail

Position Responsibilities
- Crider, Inc. requires all employees to comply with and support all Food Safety and Quality policies, programs and procedures to insure our products meet and exceed consumers’ expectation.
- Verify and correct department hours daily
- Ensure areas are sufficiently staffed, communicating with Human Resources all needs
- Oversees that paperwork and documentation are completed, and production information is submitted in a timely manner, and verify accuracy
- Develop and train supervisor leads, and supply all tools necessary to complete their tasks
- Look ahead to future production to head-off production issues
- Develop, map & maintain processes required for efficient and transparent retort operations
- Develop and maintain reports required for efficient and transparent retort area operations
- Prevent process deviations
- Communicate and manage downtime, working with maintenance and engineering as needed
- Ensure all QA, packaging and canning interface processes are documented and mapped
- Work with support groups, as needed, for continuous improvement of processes/people skills
- (In case of absence of key personnel, the job will be filled by a trained supervisor)
Essential Skills and Experience
- Complete understanding of mechanics of operation and thermal processing systems
- Strong GMP skills, as it relates to further processing
- Personnel skills in order to deal with workplace issues that arise
- Computer use relating to word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, accountability and communication
Preferred Relevant Skills and Experience
- Four-year technical degree preferred, other degrees ie. business, etc.
- Manufacturing understanding in order to prioritize events
- Strong problem solving skills
- Decision-making confidence
- Delegation of responsibilities, strong follow-up commitment

- Physical Demands: Lift dead weight, up to 40#’s
- Work Demands: 10-12 hours per day, 2-4 weekends per month
