What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Assistant position at CRISIS CENTER?
Crisis Center, located in the Miller Beach area of Gary serves youth by providing Emergency Shelter, Long Term Care and other programs to help local and statewide youth in need.
We are looking for an Accounting/Financial assistant to perform a variety of accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness within our accounting processes and systems. This is currently a part time position with the potential to move to full time in the future.
Responsibilities include:
Processing accounts payable, billing, preparing bank deposits, preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, updating and creating reports, and assisting in annual audit.
Qualifications
Proven accounting experience
Experience in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software systems
Highly skilled in Excel and other Microsoft programs
Accounting degree preferred, or education and experience equivalent to perform responsibilities
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Must past all background checks, including negative TB and drug screen
Copies of diploma, transcripts and other supporting documents
Pass all background checks required for this position
Three references
Negative TB and Drug Screening test

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
