Information & Referral Specialist

Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Payrate: $20.15/hr, $1.00/hr language differential for Spanish Speakers

Location: In-Person role at our Renton Call Center. Opportunity to work from home.

King County 2-1-1 is open Monday through Friday, 8 am - 6 pm. Scheduling flexibility within these hours is required.


This is what you’ll be doing:

Information & Referral Specialists are responsible for providing high quality, comprehensive services to King County 2-1-1’s inquirers via phone, email, chat and text.


I&R Specialists assess callers’ needs, perform intake screenings, provide appropriate referrals, are responsible for keeping complete and accurate documentation, and complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • English/Spanish bilingual speakers highly encouraged to apply.
  • Problem-solvers with a positive attitude and desire to learn and help others!
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to respond to callers with patience, objectivity and without judgement.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to work in a structured setting where punctuality, regular attendance and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Contact center background strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task using a database while simultaneously providing excellent customer service.
  • Comfortable using technology with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot basic problems.
  • Experience with cloud computing, including use of Microsoft 365. Experience navigating and recording information in a database preferred.
  • Associates Degree or experience in related field helpful.
  • Willingness and ability to work from home after in-person training in Renton.
