This role is critical in supporting the faculty and advancing the curriculum at Cristo Rey Boston. As a member of the school's Academic Leadership Team, the individual will engage in regular cycles of observation, support, feedback, and long-term planning to enable teachers to strengthen their practice and effectively reach their students. This role is central to the school’s academic program strategy and vision.
About the Role:
Teacher Support and Development:
- Collaborate with the Principal and Vice Principal to identify a caseload of teachers for coaching.
- Conduct weekly classroom observations and provide feedback.
- Meet biweekly with teachers to share observation feedback, hear concerns, and set goals.
- Create and implement individual action plans targeting goals and identified areas of growth.
- Support teachers by reviewing lesson plans, building and revising assessments, planning curriculum, co-teaching, and modeling instructional strategies.
- Develop and implement coaching plans for returning teachers who are not Department Heads.
- Conduct yearly, written evaluations of all teachers, review evaluations with each teacher, and provide appropriate follow-up, including coaching and Teacher Intervention Plans.
- Engage in long-term planning, including the development of a multi-year plan for professional development.
- Plan and facilitate summer training for new and returning teachers and ongoing professional development throughout the year.
- Continue developing a written guide describing effective teaching at Cristo Rey Boston.
- Lead all-faculty professional development sessions as needed.
Curriculum and Instruction:
- Take the lead role in researching and innovating the curriculum, providing resources for teachers, and promoting aspirational reflection about curriculum development.
- Develop a long-term professional development plan, including differentiation according to the needs of individual departments.
- Coordinate efforts to articulate each department’s mission and develop a school-wide vision of key habits of mind for students and faculty.
- Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration around instruction and curriculum.
Leadership:
- Serve on the Academic Leadership Team (ALT), focusing on teacher professional development, academic program strategy, and academic visioning.
- Meet with the Principal quarterly to share teacher progress and readjust caseloads as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field. A graduate degree is strongly preferred.
5-7 years of teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level.
Demonstrated success as a teacher mentor or teacher supervisor.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and model professionalism at all times.

Compliance with BCI and FBI background checks and completion of Protecting God's Children program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience effectively teaching and assessing a culturally diverse student population.
- Experience in a faith-based organization.
- Prior experience with Cristo Rey schools, Teach for America, Urban Catholic Teacher Corps, Alliance for Catholic Education, or Nativity/Miguel Schools.
