Position Overview:

The Saw/Seal Operator will be responsible for communicating with the saw crew, performing inspections and maintenance on walk-behind saws. The Saw/Seal Operator is a full-time position that requires travel and overtime through peak season, reports to the Manager of Paving Division, and has supervisory responsibility.

General Duties and Functions:

• Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects
• Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook
• Teach, coach, and work with the team in a constructive manner
• Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e. work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours)

Essential Duties and Functions:

• Responsible for communicating with saw and seal coating crew members
• Organize and schedule a team to keep productivity high
• Perform all aspects of the job and provide training to crew members
• Operate different types of walk-behind saws (i.e. conventional and early entry)
• Interact with department heads at Corporate Office to ensure proper reporting of payroll hours, staffing changes, crew and equipment movements, production tonnages, mechanical breakdowns, and quality issues
• Ensure safety training and procedures are adhered to
• Perform mechanical work on saws
• Perform inspections and maintenance on saws such as greasing, checking oil, and changing belts

Position Requirements:

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen and drug test
• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record request
• Minimum of 1-3 years of concrete paving experience in a variety of uses
• Operate pull type air compressors for joint cleaning
• Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements
