We are seeking a Full-Time DISPATCHER for our Sioux Falls, SD terminal.
Shift: Monday thru Friday, 12pm-8pm
Pay: $18.50/HR
Job Responsibilities
This position would be responsible for coordinating the pick-up and delivery of freight on an accurate and timely basis. Duties will include: develop and update driver dispatch schedule daily, communicate dispatch instructions to drivers, effectively manage driver deliveries and wait times, set-up daily driver tractor/trailer assignments, issue company equipment (keys, phones, etc.), monitor driver compliance with DOT hours of service regulations, and follow-up with fleet department on correction of equipment-related safety defects, communicate with customers regarding delivery and pick-up times, communicate safety awareness messages and instruct drivers in safe work practices.
Successful applicants will have many or all of the following:
- Prior dispatch experience
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal & written communications skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
- Strong work ethic with an approach of high quality service
- Ability to manage stressful situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of DOT regulations is a plus
