Job Description:
The Privacy Specialist will work closely with business units, industry verticals, Legal, and Security teams to identify and document the requirements for compliance with domestic and global data privacy laws and regulations. They will review, negotiate and advise on contracting matters related to privacy, including but not limited to: Data Protection Agreements, Security and Privacy Addendums, and Business Associate Agreements. They will work with other members of the Security/Privacy team to determine required policies, procedures, and technologies to meet the requirements of new markets we seek to enter. The Privacy Specialist will also assist with monitoring changes to security and/or privacy regulations in the regions Crowe conducts business to allow Crowe to proactively addresses changes that may be introduced. They will help raise awareness of data privacy compliance and governance regulations across the firm.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting research on privacy regulations in the countries Crowe maintains offices or performs, or seeks to perform, services for clients.
Assists with the daily operations of the privacy program
Reviews privacy and security agreements, addendums, and policies to align with Crowe's privacy and security standards
Supports Crowe's enterprise risk manage strategy and processes
Consult with business units and industry verticals on data privacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices
Partners with members of the legal team, security team, and data governance functions to help ensure Crowe's compliance with laws, regulations, and customer contracts
Assist in developing training materials and providing training to employees on privacy concepts, regulations, and obligations, and the Crowe policies, standards and processes that support compliance of these items.
Work with internal stakeholders to develop privacy best practices, such as conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and Privacy by Design programs
Assist Information Security in responding to client related surveys and questionnaires regarding the Firm's privacy compliance program and initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
3 years in information privacy roles with an emphasis on international operations and compliance.
CISSP, CISA, CIPP/US or another relevant certification a plus.
Good understanding of global data protection laws, including knowledge of CCPA and GDPR
Strong critical thinking skills
The ability to deliver clear, practical, and pragmatic written and oral communications
Flexible, agile and able to manage within ambiguity as necessary
Excellent organizational/project management and analytical skills.
Some travel required to perform job duties (<20%)
