RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the development of planning studies, transportation corridor studies, comprehensive transportation plans, comprehensive plans, and multi-modal studies
Collect a variety of statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates
Create opportunities for effective public engagement and gather input from stakeholders
Prepare PowerPoint decks and planning reports to present the information in a clear, user-friendly manner
Conduct field evaluations and assessments
Attend evening meetings as necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
0 – 4 years of experience in transportation planning
Bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning/Urban Planning/Urban Design
Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning and relevant specialization such as land use/zoning, transportation planning, urban design, and community development
Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
Experience in grant writing and administration, economic development, and public involvement programs (preferred)
Ability to adeptly organize and manage multiple deadlines and projects
Self-motivated and ability to apply independent judgement with limited supervision
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow, along with a positive team attitude
Strong GIS knowledge (preferred)
Strong computer skills – MS Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp
