About this role:
The Mechanical Quality Lead position is directly responsible for overseeing the day-to-day quality activities related to the manufacture of products and directly supervising quality personnel along with ensuring that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, and regulatory/legal requirements.
A day in the life:
Lead Quality personnel and work with internal departments and suppliers to ensure quality standards are being met.
Assist quality team in the inspection of product and the preparation of the final documentation, such as QC/QA documents, testing and commissioning reports.
Work collaboratively with engineering, production leads and departments to ensure the project/production job is performed according to customer expectations/specifications and that all work is carried per the approved method statements and drawings.
Provide technical oversight and direction as required to assist in troubleshooting or root cause analysis on difficult problems. Collaborate with engineering and production teams as required for disposition.
Support project reviews for new and complex projects to ensure that quality is designed into the product and processes.
Implement and train in lean initiatives throughout the quality department to drive continuous, efficient, visible improvements to the processes and procedures.
Coordinate with engineering and support production teams to develop Factory Acceptance Testing procedures.
Work positively with Team members throughout the company providing direction and solutions to improve overall quality and workmanship.
Administer testing to verify quality and compliance of completed mechanical components with final authority for releasing goods to market or for sale.
Submit inspection reports and QC reports regarding non-conformances.
Check submittal drawings and documents for compliance with project requirements.
Ensures that all equipment used is calibrated and with valid certificates.
Participate in the development and/or revision of SOPs for the inspection function.
You will thrive in this role if:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience coupled with quality management experience.
Knowledge of Quality standard concepts, practices, and procedures including corrective action, deviations, change requests, problem solving and leading/facilitating teams.
Familiarity with Mechanical drawing packages, weld symbols, NEMA rated enclosures, sheet metal processing and welding equipment.
Demonstrated experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Preferred knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems with preferred ISO 9001:2015 experience including audit experience and the creation of standard operating procedures.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or other certifications preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of welding and fabrication manufacturing concepts and principles and testing equipment.
Solid computer literacy in MS Office and Google products (specifically Excel/Sheets) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Ability to work within a team environment and independently
Strong oral and written communication skills
Willing to take a background and drug test
Requires lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 50 lbs
Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back

Compensation Range:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $90,000 - $100,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
