Summary:
The Liner Technician performs tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects.  The position is to be part of an installation and construction team that will work together to install various geosynthetics.

Essential Functions:
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Supervisors to ensure daily completion activity is accomplished
  • Install, weld, repair, & test geosynthetic liners
  • Assist with QC testing: Non-destructive testing of welded seams, primarily, but not limited to air test, vacuum test, air lance and spark test.
  • Ensure all projects meet quality standards per customer’s specifications and/or CQA plan.
  • Performs daily safety and maintenance checks of tools and work area
  • Operate light machinery and equipment/hand tools as required in a safe and efficient way.
  • Follow all Company and Jobsite safety processes and procedures
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site
  • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably can also perform other tasks satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:
  • A valid driver license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience with geosynthetic liner installation practices
  • Experience and familiarity with welding of HDPE/LLDPE liner, sewing and heat bonding of geotextiles including maintenance of welding and sewing devices
  • Strong experience using extrusion and wedge welding procedures
  • Three or more years’ experience in similar role on remote construction site
Preferred:
  • MSHA certification
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Ability to operate a skid steer and/or telehandler
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
  • Ability to see and record written data and information.
  • Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member successfully
  • Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to wear protective clothing
