Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and design new products based upon inspiration provided through creative briefs, individual research, commercial ideation and discussions with Director of Product Development and Merchandising team
- Create cohesive and fresh collections based on Seasonal direction and commercial ideation, fully rendered for collaboration with Product Managers.
- Create manufacturing development packets in collaboration with Product Managers and product instructions for each new product with an eye to specificity and detail
- Communicate with vendors through telephone and emails, if needed
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Merchandising and Sourcing for quality control and product approval, always keeping open lines of communication
- Create artwork to support the design cycle each season and as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
- B.F.A. or B.A. in Fine Arts or Design recommended, but not required, based on experience
- Home furnishings, décor and holiday product designers especially invited to apply
- Three to five years of previous design experience required
- Must be familiar with a variety of materials
- Adobe Creative Suite required, and 3-d experience preferred (AutoCad 3D, SketchUp)
