What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at CSI?
Intermediate care facility for ID/DD is on the hunt for a Director of Nursing to lead and oversee our nursing department. As Director of Nursing, your central goal will be to develop a collaborative and efficient workplace with specific attention to quality resident care.
The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a nursing leadership role, outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of current Federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and ICF/DD facilities.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Valid IL State license as an RN. Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience. One to three (1-3) years of management or supervisory experience in long-term care, preferably ICF/DD setting preferred but not required. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.; be capable of bending, stooping, reaching and walking.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Determine the staffing needs of the department as necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents
Provide overall direct nursing care to the residents; working closely with staff to keep them informed of any changes in an individual’s conditions/health status
Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations
Works in the RN capacity when necessary; following the standard nursing job description duties in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures
Review and update the Nursing Service procedures manual when necessary
Develop, implement and update written policies and procedures for the administration, storage and control of medications and supplies for the Pharmaceutical Services Committee
Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care
Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility (i.e., Infection Control). Schedule, attend and participate in developing the agenda for the Care Plan Committee as necessary
Follows up on lab and other clinical diagnostic tests, physician contact, and significant changes in the resident condition to ensure adequate physician notification, follow-up and needed plan of care modifications and communicates such to clinicians
Develop and maintain a good rapport with all services involved with the care plan to ensure that the team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of care
Manages and documents phone calls from physicians, clinicians, patients, referral sources, and communicates patient updates/new orders to clinicians. Uses coordination notes to document as needed and appropriate. Facilitates effective exchange of information across disciplines
Perform On-call duties per facility requirements/assignments for non-business hours. May require after hours patient visits to achieve positive patient outcomes

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
