Job Summary
|
This position supports manufacturing operations with automated/robotic manufacturing and inspection systems related to machinery & equipment acquisition, validation, programming, implementation, and continuous improvement.
|
Essential Responsibilities
|
- Provide technical support in identifying continuous improvements to manufacturing operations and implementing new technologies, researching current and emerging technologies and evaluating process quality, cost, capacity and capability alternatives.
- Provide technical support regarding equipment design and development, testing of materials, preparation of specifications and operator instructions, process studies, investigations, root cause analysis, problem solving and report or presentation preparation.
- Maintain current automation systems in support of manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Specifies equipment, tooling and fixtures for new processes and process changes.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Partner with design and quality engineers to assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Present findings to Operations and Development teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Work with Design Engineers to support New Product Implementation and complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Plan projects and track schedules for complex projects and new product/process launches.
- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

- PCB Design and Motion Controls
- Lean Manufacturing experience and application of tools and methodologies
- Lean Implementation experience in a production, warehousing or distribution environment

Needed Work Experience
|
5-7 years experience of manufacturing engineering experience with proven success with automation systems.
|
Education
|
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical major.
- Continuing education in relevant and progressive automation systems.
|
Travel
|
0-10% domestic and/or international travel may be required.
