What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Equipment Mechanic position at CST Utilities?
CST Utilities LLC is looking for an Equipment Mechanic. The Technician works under the direction of the Shop Manager to ensure that each project is completed to the specifications of the Repair Facility.
Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The lists below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma/GED
- Driver’s License and insurable
- Two years working on gas, diesel, and construction equipment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
- Perform general and detailed repairs of all trucks, equipment, and cars.
- Able to read repair orders and what is expected to complete repairs.
- Knowledge of safety techniques and procedures
- Observe and listen to vehicles in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and cars and adjust as needed.
- Repair other equipment as needed, such as generators, pressure washers, wheelbarrows, and other equipment as assigned.
- Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills needed to work with a team.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas.
- Ability to identify problems and communicate them to the Superintendent.
Physical Demands
- Requires standing up for extended periods of time.
- Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
- Requires seeing details at close range.
- Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
- Requires ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly.
