CSuite Financial Partners has been engaged by our valued client, a Northern Los Angeles, California based manufacturing company to place a Controller.
Mid-sized, high-growth manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial and tax reporting, risk management, financial systems and internal control policies and procedures.
Company is headquartered in Northern Los Angeles and is sponsored by private equity. Ideal candidate will be hard-working, highly motivated and possess exceptional technical accounting knowledge, manufacturing industry experience, analytical and critical thinking skills and a passion for excellence.
This role is onsite and reports directly to the CFO and requires frequent interaction with the Company’s senior management and the hands-on management of a team of specialists. Significant opportunity exists to develop Executive-level skills through generating analysis to drive strategic decisions, managing risk, effecting expansion (geographical, product, segment), and enhancing existing reporting, systems, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Lead monthly accounting close process - prepare account reconciliations, enter journal entries and prepare and distribute reports
- Prepare and publish timely weekly, monthly and yearly financial statements/reports and supporting analysis
- Coordinate financial analysis and reporting for multiple locations, including consolidation
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Lead preparation of audit schedules
- Collaborate with other key departments (Sales, Procurement, Operations, Quality, etc.) to provide financial data and analysis to measure performance and guide strategic decisions
- Participate in the monthly accounting close process - prepare and enter journal entries and prepare and distribute reports
- Maintain inventory and reconciliation between electronic wms system, ERP and physical cycle counts
- Contribute pertinent analysis associated with the annual budgeting process
- Additional duties and ad-hoc projects, as necessary

Required Education and Experience
- Extensive recent Inventory and Cost Accounting Experience (a must)
- Multi-location operations experience, high preference
- Intercompany transaction experience
- Advanced Excel skillet
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Heavy focus on cost accounting
- CPA preferred, MBA a plus
- Public accounting experience preferred
- 10 years of total accounting experience; 5 years in a leadership role
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge or electronic inventory wms system a plus
- Highly detail oriented and organized with ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Outstanding oral communication, analytical and written skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced high-growth environment and improve/implement processes as the Company and Finance department grow
