Job Requirements

Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Implements safety policies and is responsible for the safety and training of all employees on assigned division.
- Helps to inspect bridges, culverts, and tunnels on territory and performs annual inventory.
- Determines bridge maintenance, inspection, and construction requirements on assigned territory.
- Develops routine maintenance plans, as well as long range plans, to include requirements for manpower, materials and equipment, logistics, and labor agreements under the direction of the Director of Structures.
- Manages operating and capital budgets for bridges on assigned territory.
- Leads bridge teams and manages contractors.
- Assigns tasks and schedules personnel.
- Coordinates activities with other operating departments.
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- Less than 1 year of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering Operations
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 or more years of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering Operations
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 1 or more years of supervisory experience in 1 or more years of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering Operations
- Engineering knowledge
- Structural engineering knowledge
- Railroad industry knowledge
- Regulatory (Federal Railroad Administration) knowledge
- Microsoft Office skills
- Construction knowledge

Job Requirements
- Available to report to work with two-hour advance notice
- Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (incl working weekends)
- May be required to complete a background check
- Wear protective equipment (such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection)
- Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
