Job Summary The Director of Track is a direct report to Assistant Regional Engineer of Maintenance of Way (MOW) who leads a team of approximately 8 management and 80 union employees. Executes the strategy for all personal safety, track and bridge safety and derailment prevention across assigned territory. Identifies and directs changes to drive productivity and safety. Responsible for prioritizing all capital requests across assigned territory. Collaborates with various centers of excellence (COE) on all hiring, training and development strategies for maintenance of way employees to develop and retain the talent to execute scheduled railroading. Director of Track MOW is responsible for maintenance and safety of approximately 900 main-line track miles, 1,300 switches, 11 tunnels, 25 diamonds, 1,700 crossings, 1,800 culverts. Primary Activities and Responsibilities - Ensure leadership communication that develops managers to lead a safety culture towards zero injuries. Implements the corporate vision for Safety acrossassigned territory by providing collaborative leadership. Leads and develops the regional MoW track team for steady improvement in teamwork and safety for all employees. - Monitors the inspections and remedial actions of track conditions on assigned territory based on data analysis from geometry cars, vehicle track interaction (VTI), and autonomous track vehicles. Ensures track conditions exceed compliance requirements with all federal and CSX standards, including minimizing derailments. Interacts with government and regulatory agencies, such as Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Coordinate engineering activities at major derailments and natural disasters. Monitors the inspections and remedial actions of track conditions on assigned territory based on data analysis from geometry cars, vehicle track interaction (VTI), and autonomous track vehicles. - Plans and executes a comprehensive capital and operating expense (OE) plan for the track department in assigned territory in partnership with Assistant Regional Engineer. Implements and oversees the capital and OE plan, allocates resources, monitors plan compliance, changes as needed to deliver on plan. - Serves as champion of scheduled railroading through controlling costs and optimizing asset utiliiztion through various initiatives and operations excellence measures such as Strategic Transportation and Engineering Partnership (STEP) and Train Delay Index (TDI), in collaboration with other departments. Continually monitor and drive usage of Division Track Works (DTW) to measure productivity and reduce idle time. Support the Transportation department for the safe and timely operation of trains on the network. Ensures productivity of company assets such as major production teams, rail grinders, ballast cleaners and sperry cars. - Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree - 5 or more years of experience in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical) - 4 or more years of supervisory experience in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical) - Fully vaccinated for Covid by start date or have received an approved medical or religious accommodation. Equivalent Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma/GED - 10 or more years of experience in - 5 or more years of supervisory experience Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical) - Fully vaccinated for Covid by start date or have received an approved medical or religious accommodation. Knowledge and Skills - Knowledge of Association of American Railroads (AAR) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards. - Railroad Industry knowledge - Knowledge of Track maintenance and construction and engineering principles - Knowledge of accident investigation - Budget development - Knowledge of rail labor agreements (BMWE, sub-contracting, etc.) - Ability to present to various audiences up to the executive level and government and regulatory authorities - Microsoft Office skills (ex.
