Summary
CTC Group is seeking Network Engineers, Levels 1 & 2 for positions to support our efforts in Annapolis Junction at the R&E building. Candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, debugs, maintenance, upgrades and general support for Cisco equipment.
- Apply sound engineering practices, good judgement, and technical acumen to achieve both short and long terms goals as established by the client.
- Perform services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
- Analyze designs, specifications, and related documents.
- Demonstrate experience with networking fundamentals such as, general LAN/CAN/WAN administration, VPNs, VTCs, firewalls, schedules conversions and cutovers, etc.
- Coordinate with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents.
- Translate business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders.
- Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
- Configure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
- Perform maintenance and upgrades of networks including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, hardware and networks.
- Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies while maintaining system backs ups and recovery capabilities.
- Understand the OSI model and its use to help visualize how the network communicates along with troubleshooting network problems.
- Demonstrated experience with network monitoring tools.
- Proactive monitoring of all network devices, service and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and continuity of operations.
- Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools. Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
- Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) TDMA IP-based satellite systems, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) session performance, VPN's, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
Level 1 Requirements
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, seven (7) additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines with a high school diploma.
- Five (5) years experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Certification in routing such as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
- Shall have "Security " related certification.
- Recommended CWIP Level: IAT 1
Level 2 Requirements
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines with a high school diploma.
- Ten (10) years experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Certification in routing such as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
- Shall have "Security " related certification.
- CWIP Yrs Experience: IAT 3
- Recommended CWIP Level: IAT 2
Desired Skills
- Experience with Cisco, Visio, IP Spaces, VPN knowledge and scans.
