What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microbiology Lab Associate position at CTG?
CTG is seeking to fill a Microbiology Lab Associate opening for our client in Morrisville, NC.
Location: Morrisville, NC
Duration: 3 months
Duties:
- Conduct microbial testing of finished goods, bulk, and raw materials in compliance with USP <61> and USP <62> using rapid microbial testing methods.
- Accurately document testing information and results in real time.
- Support bulk and raw material sampling, testing, and release as needed, including sensory, pH, viscosity, and penetration testing.
- Review test data and perform release transactions in SAP.
- Address quality-related questions on the production line to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
- Document and provide support for investigations related to quality issues, including OOS, NCR, and Deviations.
- Prepare and test sterility media for raw material use.
- Review Chain of Custody (COC) and Line Clearance forms before distributing finished goods samples for testing.
- Assist with laboratory cleaning processes and communicate inventory needs for testing supplies.
- Create, revise, and review procedures (SOPs, Job Aids, and One Point Lessons) as necessary.
- Participate in special quality projects as assigned.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn additional software programs.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with microbiology processes, plating methods, and laboratory equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of SAP and Outlook preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of an AA/AS Degree in a related field or two years of progressively responsible experience in the manufacturing industry (Pharmaceutical, Food, or Cosmetics preferred).
- Experience in operating and troubleshooting testing equipment.
Education:
- AA/AS Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
