Description
The Production Planner plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. This position will provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize ERP system to generate and schedule manufacturing work orders.
- Estimate the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
- Coordinate with purchasing on material shortages.
- Address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Inform relevant departments of changes to production schedules.
- Coordinate/expedite manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Complete status reports, such as production progress, customer information, and materials inventory.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent (required).
- At least three years of planning/analytical experience in a related field.
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software (preferred).
- Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
