Job Description
As a Senior System Administrator at CTI, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our company's high-tech software and systems engineering projects in the defense and space industry. You will be working with a team of experts in real-time, decision support, and electronic warfare systems, sensor integration, and information management. CTI is dedicated to providing top-quality engineering, system development, and support for our military and security applications to include electronic warfare and training & simulation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain asset procurement and installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets), and network equipment (switches)Configure and manage DOD and IC standard distributed authentication services.
- Build up systems from "bare metal" in alignment with accredited baselines
- Ensure that hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company and government policies.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Perform daily backup operations and regular file archival to purge as necessary.
- Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures for multiple sites.
- Establishes, documents, and monitors the company's cyber security program implementation plan.
- Maintain Video Wall System and displays.
This position is in Camp Smith Hawaii.
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
- Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance and be SCI eligible- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearances.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, system engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Linux/Unix system administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of U.S. Government computers, networks, and security systems.
- Experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
Beneficial skills and experience
- Experience with simple scripts such as Powershell or Bash.
- Experience with software development Information Technology infrastructure tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef), setup, and management.
- Knowledge of DNS / DHCP / Kickstart / LDAP / Kubernetes / Red Hat 7&8 / Windows 10 / ACAS / Rancher / Grafana / Cloud Security Gateway.
- Experience administering server-side technology like PHP, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and security technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Joint IO Range, Defense Research and Engineering Network, and other similar environments.
- Security , GSLC, GSEC, or other DoD-approved 8570 Baseline Certification in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II categories.
- Experience with open-source platforms such as Kubernetes, Red Hat 7&8 and/or Windows 10, ACAS, Rancher, Grafana, and Cloud Security Gateway.
- Ability to configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets), and network equipment (switches).
- Ability to configure and manage DOD and IC standard distributed authentication services.
- Knowledge of network infrastructures in a DOD environment in Hawaii.
