Job Title: _*Project Inspector-Construction Services
General Statement of Duties: The Project Inspector will perform construction administration and inspection services for the state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility and infrastructure projects. This position will monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications, read blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.
Examples of Duties:
- Perform construction administration and inspection services for the state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects.
- Monitors and enforces quality standards and specifications, reads blueprints, and works on a variety of construction projects.
- Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals and bridge projects.
- Verifies plan quantities and calculations with a bid plan, prepares and maintains project records, and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
- Notifies the contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.

- Knowledge of Construction inspection/administration.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications*
- 2 years of transportation construction inspection experience is desired as a minimum. Prefer candidates with 5 plus years of experience.
- Different levels of Construction certifications are preferred however not required (CTL will assist with getting some certifications if necessary.
- DOT certifications
- ACI Concrete field-testing Technician-Grade I
- NICET Highway Construction level II
- IMSA Traffic signal Construction Tech Level II and IMSA Roadway Lighting Tech Level I
NICET Level II construction materials testing and NICET Level II Geotechnical Engineering Technology-Highway Construction Level II or III
Other certifications may be desired depending on location/project.

Education: *
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is desired.
- If no degree, an equivalent post-secondary education with 2 to 4 years degree or High School diploma or GED in combination with NICET Highway construction level II certification.
Other:
- Must be able to provide a valid driver license and have a clean driving record.
