Production & Signage Designer

Job Summary

The Signage & Production Designer is an integral part of our close knit team—with a mix of technical and graphic design responsibilities. Does this sound like you?

• This is a supportive position that involves designing signage for retail environments. Creative is template based with little need for creativity.

• You love typography and perfecting details before a project goes into production

• You find the technical aspect of design interesting and enjoy working within existing design systems and typographic standards

• You enjoy working as part of a tight team and juggling multiple projects at a very fast pace

• You take responsibility and ensure all production files are precise and adhere to company formatting standards

• You would like to learn more about the production side of design—including printing, materials, and prepress standards

Responsibilities

• Execute projects according to the client brief and internal documentation requirements

• Layout files using in-house guidelines and standards; utilizing company templates and resource files to maintain consistent work throughout the team

• Organize files using company guidelines and standards for safekeeping and easy retrieval

• Communicate with internal departments regarding project status and issues

• Create and/or preflight files for output production

• Create presentations for internal and external clients

• Execute highly detailed work at a fast pace

Qualifications

• College Degree

• Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a similar role

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with Mac OS and design applications: Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Photoshop

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Keynote

• Effective communicator

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Keen eye for detail

Working Conditions

• Intensive computer work on Mac based systems and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse or tablet

• Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes

• Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day

• Occasional overtime

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Graphic design: 1 year (Preferred)
