Summary
The Growout Manager provides leadership and direction in the day-to-day supervision of the Growout Team to achieve peak results with our contracted farm families to maintain compliance in a safe manner with all company policies and local, county, state, and federal regulations as they relate to poultry production.

Requirements
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Travels to contracted family farms, to verify conditions and raising practices are being met to ensure bird health.
- Provides leadership, training and coaching to Flock Supervisors, as well as producers to ensure all company policies and programs are being adhered to.
- Complies and follows company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety and animal welfare programs and policies at all times.
- Establishes, measures and is accountable for KPIs for the growout operation in a manner to meet company goals.
- Drives program compliance and competitive farm performance.
- In farm management, meets all facility operational plans to ensure scheduling of placements, harvest, health checks and accurate weight projections for bird movements.
- Reports on progress to include physical farm improvements, performance metrics, animal welfare and safety.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
- BS degree in Animal Science, related discipline or a minimum of 10 years poultry raising experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- Proficient with skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
- Ability to develop protocols and processes and effectively implement them.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel to other company related facilities and plant locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
1. Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, duck houses and processing plants.
2. Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, etc.
3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of -10 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 dB. You may be exposed to all chemicals used in a poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
4. Exposure to duck manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the duck barns.
5. Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs.
6. Must be able to climb to a 12’ ladder as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
