RESIDENCE COUNSELOR- PRN/PART TIME

Dynamic Opportunity~ As a PRN employee, working hours as needed, a Residence Counselor provides counseling, guidance and advocacy to clients with behavioral health issues, who reside in a residential setting.

The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 50 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.

What does this position look like~ A Residence Counselor maintains progress and activities records. Develops and implements social, recreational and educational activities for clients. Communicates observations and information about the client to the treatment team. Accompanies and provides transportation for clients to community resources. Provides on-site services and support.

What you need to apply~

Education and/or experience equal to one of the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field, or
• A licensed registered nurse, or
• A combination of one or more years of college, plus related work or life experience together equaling four years, or
• A licensed practical nurse plus two years or related work or life experience, or
• A High School diploma or the equivalent, plus four years of related work or life experience

Knowledge of community resources and agencies.
Valid automobile driver's license with MVR which meets agency standards.
